The 7th World Congress on Women’s Mental Health will take place at the RDS in Dublin from Monday, March 6, to Thursday, March, 9, 2017, and will be addressed by a host of international and local experts.
The conference will be held in association with the International Association for Women’s Mental Health (IAWMH), TCD and the National Women’s Council of Ireland and in partnership with the Irish Family Planning Association.
According to the organisers: “The theme, ‘Rights, Resilience and Recovery’ encapsulates the many facets of women’s mental health and offers organisations/associations the chance to showcase leading products, processes and outreach programmes.”
Keynote speakers will include Prof Veronica O’Keane, Consultant Psychiatrist in Tallaght Hospital and Professor of Psychiatry, TCD; Dr Prabha Chandra, Professor of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, India, who specialises in perinatal psychiatry and violence against women; and Ailbhe Smyth, founder and ex-Director of the Women’s Education, Research and Resource Centre at University College Dublin.
Smyth is currently Convenor of the Coalition to Repeal the 8th Amendment and was involved in the campaign for marriage equality in Ireland in 2015.
